  1. After watching this pilot, I found it to be not that bad. It could have been better though by being at least 90 minutes long. Usually pilot show are 2 hour movies so the public can get a better chance to understand the shows. If David E. Kelly had done that, maybe the networks may have picked the series up.

  3. So much better then the majority of crap we’re getting on TV these days. I guess there just aren’t enough metro-sexual vampires or werewolves to make it worth while, huh? Honestly didn’t mind it.

  4. OMG… where to begin?? Wonder Woman… KILLING PEOPLE?? Everyone knows about her? She’s the head of a mega-corporation? Does she pal around with Bruce Wayne?? This storyline is so twisted up I can’t see where the knots end and the rope begins.

That being said, the storyline/plot of the pilot wasn’t bad. And I did prefer the first costume except that the boots were high heels. Get practical, folks. Pumps, ok… but stilettos? The acting on all fronts was good. The “Diana Prince” storyline seemed to be just thrown in… had no real substance and the pilot could have flown 100% the same without it.

If there’s another attempt at this, it needs to be written by someone that actually knows the Wonder Woman storyline from the comics. I can see why it wasn’t picked up.

  8. I LOVE Wonder Woman! She has been my hero since I was six! I collect her comics and I watched the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman series after school, so I was beyond thrilled that she was being brought back!
Adrianne Palicki did a good job as WW/Diana, and if this show was written right in the first place and if David E Kelly understood the character in the first place he would have not gotten WW so wrong.
WW does not torture people to get information, she has the lasso of truth and it was called that in this pilot so why was it not used that way?
She also does not kill because someone human is in her way, she is a warrior not a thug but she will try to reason before being violent but she will thrown down. Also yes she has an invisible plane but she can also now FLY!
I liked Etta Candy she was great and so was the actor Tracie Thoms, but Veronica Cale a la Liz Hurley was simple dire why did they pick her she cannot act to save her life!!!!!
I truly wish that David E. Kelly read and gleamed things from the George Perez run which was paramount in WW history and in the revamping of a character and also Greg Rucka’s run which was stellar for he showed the reader/fan new and various sides to Diana/WW that many writers never had the stones to show (for example Diana having to kill Max Lord to save Superman, Batman and the world), and how Diana/WW blinded herself so she could battle Medusa and win.
This show would have been much better if the revampers had taken consideration her Amazon heritage, her outsiderness, her connection to the Greek Gods ( that could have been gold because everyone seems to be into magic, monsters (vampires) and the supernatural in books, movie and tv. )
I just wish that this could have been done well because with Adrianne, Tracie, Cary Elews, a new Veronica Cale other villains like Circe or Dr. Psycho, and a re-structuring of this whole idea of Diana being a rouge corporate crime fighter is just janky.
I can only hope that they will do a proper action movie with DC and Warner Bros and consider Adrianne Palicki for the lead of Diana/WW because she deserves a chance a good one!

  9. I think wonder woman is an interesting character on her own , as for the show?.. Well it certainly is good, though not perfect, I think she should have kept the pants instead of going to the classic star spangled underwear from the comics, sure it’s more accurate and yes i’m i guy who like sexy girls, but I still think that she shouldn’t have shown as much skin. After all if this series is ever picked up again, A lot of younger females might watch this, and need a better role model then a girl who dresses in a red, blue, and gold bathing suit. It works for the comics, but some costumes don’t translate well in live action. The X-men movies and Smallville series changed there costumes and no one had a problem with it, why would we have a problem with it here? Bottom line, if the costume is altered, a bit, a little more of her back story is established, or if it became a sequel to the live action movie in the works and if they have comic book writer and Smallville producer and writer Jeph Loeb help out, then it might do ok as a series. I’ll keep my fingers crossed, as it had a lot of potential in my opinion.

  10. I thought the pilot was pretty good but needed some tweaking. BTW: Wonder Woman killed Maxwell Lord in the comics and is an Amazon warrior and she did it in self defense (the guy was shooting at her). I think the main reason the show was not picked up was WB was aware of all the negative comments on the internet and figured the show wouldn’t get good ratings. The pilot also wasn’t finished and the cost of doing the show might have been quite high. Plus THE CAPE and other superhero shows weren’t getting good ratings. (SMALLVILLE may have lasted 10 years but it was on the CW where all shows have sub-par ratings compared to the top networks. And CW couldn’t afford to do WONDER WOMAN with the licensing fee and the budget needed to do the show properly.) BTW: there are storyboards that show scenes from Paradise Island that may have been planned for the pilot or a future show so WW’s background would have been explored.
Lynda Carter’s show was pure cheese and comic book stuff compared to a more realistic approach that David Kelley seemed to go for. He tried to humanize the character more rather than have her be one-dimensional IMHO.

  12. It would have been cool to see a strong woman on tv. Thank you David E. Kelly for giving it a shot. I feel like it would have been a great series with a great fan following. The love tension at the end with Steve Trevor and Diana prince would have made for a great story line…

  13. Im so sad this was cancelled. Its understandable that its not a movie, and for a tv series, it was gd. I was amazed, the lead was actually gd for a TV series as Wonder Woman, and no denying she was HOT ! NBC gotta start this show again or perhaps sell it to some other company to continue it ! But some areas could be improved. WW should not kill and her Jet design should be improved.

  14. I absolutely adored this pilot, and really saddened that it wasn’t picked up. It would’ve went far. it was refreshing to see a different take on the character, and I’ve been a WW fan for a long time. Yes some things could’ve been tweeked, but on the whole this was very entertaining. but if it makes anyone feel better Charlie’s Angels got yanked too. Oh well, on to the next WW project.

  19. Just ordered the pilot on ebay. I’m looking forward to seeing it. It was trashed by so many people but the clips of it look decent. I’ll have to see for myself. Wonder Woman is a chractor with so much potential, she could become hugely popular if done in a way that captures her femininity with wisdom and strength. She could blast off the screen into the social consciousness of America and elsewhere.

  20. This is not the Diana I know. This Diana is petty, vulgar (Etta warned you!), and not nearly as “wonderful” as the Diana I know. In other words, there’s not much that’s super, or wonderful, about her. OK, she beats up a bunch of people. So what??

This seems to be more like the New 52 Diana, than the one that we knew for at least 25 years before that. The only thing I like from the New 52 version is the black leggings and coat outfit. Otherwise, forget it. But I digress.

The “real” Diana is very strong (Superman strong), very fast (Flash fast), can fly, and is wise, pure-hearted, compassionate, and seeks to negotiate first. Yes, she will kill (and has killed), but only as a very last resort, when all else has failed and when the lives of others are truly in danger. She also doesn’t roll her eyes at the law or the justice system. She respects it, and doesn’t place herself above it.

I would love to see a Wonder Woman series, and I agree that she could be hugely popular, *IF* done right. (Same for a Batman series, which I would LOVE to see, *IF* done right) Adrianne did a decent job, and if they kept her, that would be fine by me. But they need to totally re-write the character. And NOT according to the only half-human New 52 version! Please stick with the more established, fully human, good-hearted, super-naturally powered Diana we all know and love.

In other words, consult with the people who really know the character, and let them help you develop her. Then it would be a success!
