All New X-Men #6
Marvel Comics
Story: Brian Michael Bendis
Art: David Marquez
Issue six pretty much covers two sets of interactions. One is Jean Grey trying to control her newly awaken powers, the other is the young Scott Summers trying to come to terms with the monster he's supposed to become. With Jean, Kitty is there to give her support like explaining to her how to shut out the invading thoughts of all the people around her. Paradoxically, the advice Kitty gave Jean was originally told to Kitty by the Jean of Kitty's time. Time travel, it's more convoluted on the inside. … Categorized Under: Comics

Continuing with Cyclops' obsession with the "New Mutant Revolution", he, Magneto and Magik arrive in an abandoned looking military facility. Turns out Cyclops has declared their new base of operation to be the old Weapon X facility. The same place where Wolverine was given his adamantium skeleton. His reason? No one would think to look for them there. Which very well might be true. Magneto and Cyclops stage a jail break for a fellow mutant only to discover that their powers are very much screwed up. The mutant they break out … Categorized Under: Comics

Batman #14
DC Comics
Story: Scott Snyder
Art: Greg Capullo
The Joker wants Batman's undivided attention and gets it by recreating their first meeting together, just this time he's made a few deadly changes. All I can say about this issue is WOW. Snyder writes one dangerous Joker. Putting aside his creepy wearing his detached face, we have a calculating, murderous man who's still in control of himself even though he seems to be whirling out into a madman's maelstrom. Joker kidnaps Alfred leaving behind a cassette tape for Batman. On it we hear Joker telling Bruce Wayne that he's borrowed Alfred for … Categorized Under: Comics

The Japanese soldiers come back for a second attack and are fought off again by Captain Marvel and the Banshees. This time, however, the Prowlers combine to form Voltron.

Hoax Hunters #2
Story:Michael Moreci & Steve Seeley
Art: Axel Medellin
This is part two of "Die Off Another Day", here's the synopsis from Image Comics:
Danger awaits the Hoax Hunters at the mysterious carnival - a roaming band of cryptids with an agenda all their own. An old foe emerges wielding a power the likes of which the Hoax Hunters have never seen; not to mention an enormous, hideous monster.
Sounds like fun right? Well it is. I've said it before—personally I love conspiracies, alien agendas, government cover ups, the unexplained, the No Agenda Show and Coast to Coast AM. Moreci and Seeley … Categorized Under: Comics

Dr. Benjamin Dane's life is on the quick track to hell. He's a surgeon with a drinking habit and as he put it in the book, "a semi-professional drug habit". Two qualities you want in a surgeon. Dane's life goes from bad to worse when he lets a patient die in his O.R.
While his life is crashing, another surgeon wants out. He wants out of the world of organ harvesting. Sadly when you're involved with people who have no qualms about trafficking people's organs you're only way out is usually a gun shot to the … Categorized Under: Comics

Earth 2 #3Story: James Robinson
Art: Nicola Scott
"…and now, the Green Lantern"
The introduction of Alan Scott as the Green Lantern was about as exciting as that line. It's like we came back from commercial break. James Robinson is a great writer. Just look at his run on Starman or the Justice Society.
Great stuff.
Earth 2? Not so much. It really feels like he's just not into it and I can't blame him. Over all the relaunch of the DCU has been very underwhelming for me. Sure there are people out there that really dig what's going on but I'm really not. … Categorized Under: Comics

Before Watchmen: Nite Owl #1
Story: J. Michael Straczynski
Art: Andy Kubert
The Watchmen prequels continue with the third installment Nite Owl. As with Minutemen #1 and Silk Spectre #1, I'm still really not impressed with this series. In this particular issue, you get to see how Daniel Dreiberg takes over the reins of Nite Owl from Hollis Mason. Even though this was written by Straczynski, the story was pretty dull. That's not a reflection on Straczynski, he's proven time and again how creative a writer he is. I get the feeling that he might not be 100% behind this prequel … Categorized Under: Comics
